These remarkable women do more than just cheer from the sidelines; they play a pivotal role in nurturing, supporting, and guiding our young athletes towards greatness, both on and off the field. We wouldn’t be half the men we are today if it weren’t for the strength of the women in our lives. **Bill Marshall** Head Coach | Valparaiso Vikings ![coach-marshall-banquet](https://valpovikingsqbc.org/hubfs/coach-marshall-banquet.jpg)   ## Unseen Sacrifices Valpo football moms are the epitome of strength and resilience. Their day might start before dawn, preparing nutritious meals to fuel their athletes, and end long after the sun has set, washing uniforms or offering a shoulder to lean on after a tough game. They balance work, family, and the demanding schedule of football season, often sacrificing their own needs and desires. Yet, they do so with a smile, driven by an unwavering love for their children and their community.![rainy-game](https://valpovikingsqbc.org/hs-fs/hubfs/rainy-game.jpg?width=200&height=250&name=rainy-game.jpg) ## Emotional Backbone Football moms also provide crucial emotional support. They are the first to offer encouragement after a defeat and the first to celebrate a victory, no matter how small. Their presence in the stands, rain or shine, serves as a constant reminder to their children that they are loved, supported, and believed in. This emotional foundation is critical in building young athletes' resilience, teaching them to face challenges with courage and grace. ## Spirit of Community ![player-penn-2023](https://valpovikingsqbc.org/hs-fs/hubfs/player-penn-2023.jpeg?width=200&height=200&name=player-penn-2023.jpeg)Football moms do more than support their own children; they foster a sense of community and teamwork that is invaluable. From organizing fundraisers to coordinating carpool schedules, they ensure that every member of the team has what they need to succeed. Their efforts help build a supportive network not just among the players, but among the families, coaches, and the wider community. This sense of belonging and collective effort is what makes high school football much more than a game. ## More Than Just Supporters On this International Women's Day, we recognize high school football moms as leaders, mentors, and champions in their own right. Their role goes beyond logistical support; they are instrumental in shaping the character and values of young athletes. Through their actions, they teach lessons of dedication, hard work, and compassion that extend far beyond the football field. ## A Call to Celebrate ![cheer-home](https://valpovikingsqbc.org/hs-fs/hubfs/cheer-home.jpg?width=200&height=250&name=cheer-home.jpg)To every high school football mom out there, today we celebrate you. We see the sacrifices you make, the love you give, and the strength you embody. Your contributions may not always make the headlines, but they leave a lasting impact on the hearts and lives of your children, their team, and the entire community. So, as we wait for the lights on Friday nights to once again shine down on the field, let’s give a standing ovation to these remarkable women, whose efforts help cultivate not just athletes, but well-rounded, compassionate individuals ready to tackle whatever life throws their way. Here’s to the Vikings football moms - the true MVPs. Thank you for being the unsung heroes of VHS football.  Topics:   [QBC](https://valpovikingsqbc.org/coachs-corner-and-qbc-blog/tag/qbc) ### Get Notified About our Next Article! - - - - [mailto:?subject=Moms%20of%20our%20Valpo%20Vikings:%20The%20Real%20MVPs&body=Moms%20of%20our%20Valpo%20Vikings:%20The%20Real%20MVPs%20https://valpovikingsqbc.org/coachs-corner-and-qbc-blog/moms-of-valpo-vikings-the-real-mvps](mailto:?subject=Moms%20of%20our%20Valpo%20Vikings:%20The%20Real%20MVPs&body=Moms%20of%20our%20Valpo%20Vikings:%20The%20Real%20MVPs%20https://valpovikingsqbc.org/coachs-corner-and-qbc-blog/moms-of-valpo-vikings-the-real-mvps) ## Related Articles [QBC](https://valpovikingsqbc.org/coachs-corner-and-qbc-blog/tag/qbc) [Weekly](https://valpovikingsqbc.org/coachs-corner-and-qbc-blog/tag/weekly) ### [More Than Pink: Why October Is Personal to Our Team](https://valpovikingsqbc.org/coachs-corner-and-qbc-blog/more-than-pink-why-october-is-personal-to-our-team) I'm going to turn the mic over to one of your teammates, someone who wants to talk about and bring awareness to what October is about.
